They welcomed me into their family.  They loved me and my girls.  They took care of my family when we were in need.  They were caring and generous.  The loved their grandson and daughter.  I wish we would have asked Truman all his cooking and gardening secrets.  I wish I could have enjoyed one more squash casserole or some homemade bbq sauce.  I wish I could have spent more time with Rose.  Reese will remember her.  She would go to her home, when she was still living in Mart, cuddle up in the recliner with her and watch Beverly Hill Chihuahua over and over again.  My girls loved their memaw Rose.  Easter, Christmas, Halloween and other holidays just will not be the same.  Raeleigh asked, "Why did memaw have to die?  I liked her." The Schroeders were good people and are happily now reunited in Heaven.  Rose is reading, watching movie and gardening--she can walk and, even dance, and diabetes never crosses her mind....

"Why Do Our Loved Ones Die, Aunt Lou" is a beautiful encouragement to parents and children who are struggling with the loss of a loved one. It uses scriptures to teach God's truth about the brevity of earthly life. Although I don't look forward to the occasion of having to read this book to my sweet daughter, I am thankful that I now have this tool to make that occasion easier to explain to her. -Tiffany Bishop

What a day this was.  Beautiful scenery, great friends, wonderful music, tasty food, heart-warming baptisms and a God that never fails.   A total of ten people were either baptised for the first time or rededicated their lives to Christ. A beautiful friend of mine who has been a Christian for years just never baptised chose to join me on this memorable day.  You know the type of friend I mean...I have only VERY casually known her and her family for less that 2 years.  Just in the last month did we set aside the time to get our families together and get to know each other more.  There are some people God gifts into your life that you just IMMEDIATELY feel love for and a connection with.  We truly do have brothers and sisters in Christ.  Amber is for sure my sister.  I love her and her family dearly--immediately.  I was blessed to have them with me on this special day. Just got back from our twice monthly HEB trip and I managed to top my own coupon savings record!  WhooHOOOOO!  Here goes the break down! Store brand savings: $9.99 On Sale Savings:  $7.72 COUPON SAVINGS: $89.65 TOTAL:  $107.36 What a rush that was! Before savings the total was staggering...$384.55.  We definitely did not have that type of money to spend.  We are usually pleased with a total bill of $300 or less for a 2 week period.  That is $150 a week for all of our consumer goods.  We don't 'shop'.  We get what we need on our grocery trip and no other shopping in between.  So that averages $150 per week for a family of four.  With the economy like it is, I am not pleased with that but it is a reality. Decided to not only make the list and compile the coupons for my hubs this week but to also go to the store along with him. Usually he goes directly after work, without us. It seems easier for one of us to go than both of us with 2 kids in tow. We bravely trod where many-a-parent is required to go and drug the 2 girls out with us this evening. Our family shops once every two weeks with a detailed list to minimize impulse buys and unnecessary purchases. We have been averaging around $320 a trip for all the groceries, personals, cleaners and household items we need each two weeks. THIS WAS NOT OK WITH ME! INSANITY! I realize that prices have gone up across the board but just last year we were averaging $200 per 2 week trip. A $120 increased seemed NUTS! The author of "Tell Me About Easter, Aunt Lou" does a good job pulling both the secular and spiritual belief into an allegory for the young mind. She challenges the reader in differentiating between the secular ways of east bunnies;easter eggs;easter baskets; parties; new apparel, etc. and the Spiritual way of Jesus giving His life to everyone through His suffereing and pain, and then His miraculous resurrection, giving us an opportunity for a complete and new way of life full of happiness and fun-filled lives through our belief and obedience ito Him. What a great gift to add to this year's Easter basket! Tell Me About Easter, Aunt Lou uses beautiful language and illustrations to explain the true meaning of Easter to curious children. As a person who was lucky enough to know Aunt Lou, I can say Mrs. Stolle does a wonderful job telling the story just as she would have. Aunt Lou always had a way of explaining a story so that anyone could understand, which is exactly what this book does.
