Tim and the Keith Family: What happened and how to help

Image
Many of you have seen information posted on social media sites about lil Tim Keith but the information is choppy and in different locations.  I have decided to compile it all here so people can learn about what happened and then how they can help this sweet family. Joey, Eva and Tim were an integral part of The Church at Tree Lake deaf ministry and family up until just a few months ago when they moved to Washington D.C.  They were sorely missed.  Just this month the family was met with tragedy.  5 year old Tim was struck by a taxi in New York City as the family was enjoying a vacation.  Here is an article that appeared in the New York Daily News: "A deaf 5-year-old boy was fighting for his life after he was mowed down by a cab in Brooklyn — as his horrified parents, who also can’t hear, looked on. Timothy Keith ’s mother and father were inconsolable after their first family trip to the city turned to heartbreak Saturday. With tears streaming down her face,...

Weight Watchers Weekly accomplishment

YAY!  We finally did it--we have been having a very hard time following through with the plan for an entire week.  It always seems that something comes up or we have an unbearable craving--but this week we did it. I lost 3.2 lbs and Jason lost 1.6.  We are so excite to be back on track. I attribute my loss to a very busy week of back to school and preschool teaching.  I moved ALOT this week.  And thanks to my cortizone shot in m y neck a few weeks back, I was able to go pain free!  We are ready to tackle another week of Weight Watchers and we are encouraged and hopeful for even better losses!

The Schroeders

Image
They welcomed me into their family.  They loved me and my girls.  They took care of my family when we were in need.  They were caring and generous.  The loved their grandson and daughter.  I wish we would have asked Truman all his cooking and gardening secrets.  I wish I could have enjoyed one more squash casserole or some homemade bbq sauce.  I wish I could have spent more time with Rose.  Reese will remember her.  She would go to her home, when she was still living in Mart, cuddle up in the recliner with her and watch Beverly Hill Chihuahua over and over again.  My girls loved their memaw Rose.  Easter, Christmas, Halloween and other holidays just will not be the same.  Raeleigh asked, "Why did memaw have to die?  I liked her." The Schroeders were good people and are happily now reunited in Heaven.  Rose is reading, watching movie and gardening--she can walk and, even dance, and diabetes never crosses her mind....

Weight watcher week 4 review: EPIC fail--gains

Jason and I blew it this week.  Blew it right out of the water!  I gained 4.3 lbs (more than I have lost--but my special circumstances from being a female also came into play here) and Jason gained 1.8 on top of the 3 lb gain last week.  The issue? WE ATE OUT 4 out of 5 weeknights. Monday: Jonny Carinos (girls night for me) Tuesday: Red Lobster (out with pastor and wife) Wednesday: ate chicken salad wraps at home Thursday: Brazos River Steak House (just didnt want to cook) Friday: take out Pizza (had company coming and didnt want to clean up) Sat: Texas Roadhouse (with Robert and Carol) Yeah, so we completely had a lapse in Judgement this week.  But we are not discouraged.  Back to counting points next week.  This Weight Watchers thing works--just got to stay motivated!!!!

Weight Watchers Week 3 review--3.4 lbs lost

Week three was definitely challenging and a learning experience.  Jason was GONE this week to Dallas for training and I was here with the kiddos---CRAZY week!  I was wanted to emotional eat Sunday night because Jason was gone.  I made the decision to use my 49 weekly points in one day.  Not wise.  It definitely made the rest of the week more difficult and rigid, but doable.  I ate out Friday night when Jason returned home and had TWO margaritas--I earned them this week.  I also enjoyed pizza 3 times this week (in moderation of course) and I still managed to lose 1 lb.  This is a 3.4 lb total loss thus far.  I am pleased with that and I look forward to getting back into walking with Jason in the evening and having a more set meal plan with him back home. Jason had a hard week too... Week 3 was HORRIBLE. I was out of town all week on training so I ate out for every meal.  I tried to be as good as possible but I wasn't overly successful...

HCG VCLD day 3--6.11lb total loss

I am now on Day 4 of the HCG VCLD diet using homeopathic drops.  This morning I registered a 1.3 lb loss.  That is a total of 6.11 lb total loss since Tuesday--not too SHABBY! My meals from yesterday: breakfast: 2 cups coffe with milk and truvia lunch: sausage link, baby spinach snack:  another sausage link at 4pm (kinda a cheat) dinner:  brat, sausage and sauerkraut with green salad (dry) snack:  3 servings fruit salad (no sugar or added syrup) I feel like I indulged yesterday.  Thursdays and my Tulips lady bible study nights.  I head over to a friend's house and she feeds us before our class.  She is German and can COOK up a STORM!!!  I am very pleased with the 1.3 lb loss from yesterday!

HCG VLCD day 1 results

I am on day 2 of the VLCD diet with HCG Homeopathic drops. Day 1 results:  FOUR pounds lost. So far no hunger pains.  I don't usually over-eat from hunger, it is usually boredom, stress or self-sabotage. My menu from yesterday: breakfast:  2 cups of coffee each with truvia and milk (I am not obsessive about the 1tsp of MILK rule) snack:  melba toast lunch:  3 slices of turkey lunch meat rolled with baby spinach inside, apple, unsweet tea snack:  strawberries with truvia dinner:  grilled chicken breast, baby spinach and a cup of hot green tea before bed LOTS of water throughout the day It is going good and I am looking forward to this as a weight loss aide and a long-term dietary  plan.  I suffer from psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, bulging cervical dics and chronic fatigue.  This i my second go at the HCG plan and the no diet soda and sugar rule effects my symptoms DRAMATICALLY!!! My swelling is greatly reduced and my p...

RIP Mister Bubba--Thanks for 9 sweet years

Image
This evening, Wednesday, February 2, 2011, The Stolle Family lost a dear member of the Family. Ole Mister Bubba gave up his spirit this evening amongst sweet doggie friends Sadie and Peyton. Bubba was a loveable, quirky member of the Stolle Family for the past nine years. He saw the family through two moves, the births of two children and many a teary eyed nights. He was adopted in 2003 from Fuzzy Friends Rescue at the age of 4 years and quickly warmed our hearts. He wasn't one to complain, or bark, or put up a fuss but that faitful day at FFR he chose to let his voice be heard. Mister Bubba called out to me from his cage at the rescue and just begged with his big brown eyes to come home with us. He overcame the odds and survived heart-worm treatments immediately after leaving Fuzzy Friends. He loved food, sleeping UNDER the covers, cuddles, kisses and more food. He was not one to take baths, get his feet wet, or even in the grass for that matter, but he marched right into our hear...
