Day 7: End of fast and Airrosti

So I ended my juice fast last night. I ate some salsa, guacamole and chips. I was having a hard time concentrating and yes I could have just pushed through but I am not my only responsibility. I have 2 precious little girls in my care and when my fog started to effect my driving I figured it was time to pull the plug. In all I lost 10 lbs in 6 days...not too bad...but weight loss was not my primary goal. Don't get me wrong, it was a great side-effect of the fast but not the greatest. Let me tell you what!!!!!! I feel AMAZING! I woke this morning and the only thing that sounded the least bit good was pineapple and strawberries with a cup of coffee and a dab of soy milk in the coffee for creamer. Not too far of a divergence from my fast diet except for the caffeine and the fact that I actually got to chew something. The fog has lifted and I am soooo very energized. Normally with my swelling and arthritis normal, everyday tasks can be difficult for me to accomplish. I am usually let...

HCG VLCD day 1 results

I am on day 2 of the VLCD diet with HCG Homeopathic drops. Day 1 results:  FOUR pounds lost. So far no hunger pains.  I don't usually over-eat from hunger, it is usually boredom, stress or self-sabotage. My menu from yesterday: breakfast:  2 cups of coffee each with truvia and milk (I am not obsessive about the 1tsp of MILK rule) snack:  melba toast lunch:  3 slices of turkey lunch meat rolled with baby spinach inside, apple, unsweet tea snack:  strawberries with truvia dinner:  grilled chicken breast, baby spinach and a cup of hot green tea before bed LOTS of water throughout the day It is going good and I am looking forward to this as a weight loss aide and a long-term dietary  plan.  I suffer from psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, bulging cervical dics and chronic fatigue.  This i my second go at the HCG plan and the no diet soda and sugar rule effects my symptoms DRAMATICALLY!!! My swelling is greatly reduced and my p...

Suprise Lent Blessing

Each year my husband and I try to observe Lent by giving up various things. This year I decided to give up diet soda, tv before 5 pm and sweets. Jason gave up tv all-to-gether! And he didn't cheat one single time. I am so very proud of him! I however cannot say the same for myself. I did really well with the soda and sweets. I did cheat a few times--but hey, I am human and I think God knows that. The tv thing...baaaaaa! That lasted all of a week for me. At 3-4pm every day that screen just called my name. Not making excuses but as a stay-at-home om there is something about a good tv show on an especially kid stressful day that does my nerves some good. Well in the midst of all of the temptations and struggles with our Lenten decisions God did something miraculous. I have been on sleeping pills for...man...hmm....since I was pregnant with my second child--Raeleigh. So I guess it has been over 3 years now. I suffer from fibromyalgia, psoratic arthritis and PTSD. Each of t...

Positive

Here it is 11pm and I am still up. Although this isnt late for most people I have always been one to need my sleep. As a teenager I was known to go to bed as early as seven--and I find myself now as an adult to feel my best when I hit the hay close to 10. With that being said, about once a week I feel the overwhelming need to go to bed by 6 or 7 and sleep completely thru the night til the next morning. I have a very lively and dependable wake up call around 7:30 each morning. It never fails me and never ceases to amaze me. Reese runs into my room, turns on the light and SCREAMS get up mommy, get up! How can I say no to that. Well, I actually know how but it never seems to work. So like clockwork I am up every morning at 7:30 am no matter what time I turned in the night before. I battle insomnia. This is my war. I have fibromyalgia, PTSD and psoratic arthritis. A NIGHTMARISH combination. The PTSD causes very frightening, very emotional and very real nightmares. Just recently I...

Fibromyalgia hypothesis

Image
Have you seen the trailer for that wolfman movie. Every time I see it I grimace and then laugh and for the 100 th time tell my husband how much that scene where he is SOOOOOO painfully morphing into the wolf looks like how my fibro feels. Joints pulling apart, body tensing, muscles ripping and the painful expressions...I totally get it. I have a new hypothesis ...I DO NOT have fibromyalgia ... I AM A WEREWOLF !
