Once upon a @(*^&$E#*&@@) !... (part 2)

So I met with my rheumatologist today, I am going to be brief because the drive and visit completely wore me out.  I must say that I am so very thankful for an understanding and patient physician.  He listened while I walked him through the whole schpheel, asked a few questions and this is the answer I got. Having the flu in March suppressed/messed up my immune system to the point that I became more susceptible to infections.  The parade of infections that followed have now culminated into a super-infection that is no longer responding to basic antibiotics.  He instructed me to remain off the methotrexate because it will only worsen my healing and gave me a new antibiotic RX to get me through til Monday.  Monday I will see an infection disease physician to come up with a long term treatment plant to eradicate the underlying infections.   Continued prayers are welcomed.

72 hours knee reconstruction post-op

Slowly getting better.  There is a constant dull ache but not the unending FIRE that was there before. The pain subsides now as long as I do not move.  As long as I keep it elevated and still, it is ok.  But as soon as I need to go potty, change positions, sit up to eat or drink the pain is excruciating.  And a new symptom began night before last.  The pain must still be VERY real when I am unconscious--I am now waking myself up from a sound sleep with a reoccuring nightmare (with well-matching pain) that my knee is dislocated.  Not fun at all.  My whole body jumps.  I yell and then realize that the pain is from surgery and not a dislocated knee.  Very strange sensation.

Colic-- I can soo relate to this article

Our Son Got Over Colic — We Haven't The real damage in dealing with a crying baby by Mike Shields | September 8, 2010 100 like 278 There is a memorably dark scene in the cult classic movie Office Space when the main character, while visiting his therapist, describes just how bleak his life is — he essentially says that every day is worse than the last, thus every day is the worst day of his life. The presumably highly trained, empathetic therapist, replies, “Wow, that’s messed up, man.” That scene pretty much describes my life — and the level of expert help I received — when my son Christopher went through colic earlier this year. According to WebMD.com, a baby who cries more than three hours a day more than three days a week for at least three weeks in a row has colic. And unlike why most babies cry (they’re tired, hungry or have a dirty diaper), kids with colic cry inexplicably. My son exceeded the daily three-hour threshold with regularity. ...

HCG VLCD day 1 results

I am on day 2 of the VLCD diet with HCG Homeopathic drops. Day 1 results:  FOUR pounds lost. So far no hunger pains.  I don't usually over-eat from hunger, it is usually boredom, stress or self-sabotage. My menu from yesterday: breakfast:  2 cups of coffee each with truvia and milk (I am not obsessive about the 1tsp of MILK rule) snack:  melba toast lunch:  3 slices of turkey lunch meat rolled with baby spinach inside, apple, unsweet tea snack:  strawberries with truvia dinner:  grilled chicken breast, baby spinach and a cup of hot green tea before bed LOTS of water throughout the day It is going good and I am looking forward to this as a weight loss aide and a long-term dietary  plan.  I suffer from psoriatic arthritis, fibromyalgia, bulging cervical dics and chronic fatigue.  This i my second go at the HCG plan and the no diet soda and sugar rule effects my symptoms DRAMATICALLY!!! My swelling is greatly reduced and my p...

Boobie Blunders

*sigh* Well I went and did it again. Those of you who keep up with the blog know that sometime back in September/august I completely dislocated my left knee for the fourth time and reset it myself on the floor of my master bedroom with four screaming children in the house. Luckily enough Jason was home early and all was well. Then two weeks ago in the complete chaos of all that was and is our move--I fell. I fell HARD and spent 5 hours in the Er thinking that I may actually have had a break. All was well, just a major sprain. I jumped into a walking boot and didn't miss a beat. Well today, with great intentions , I went out to help Jason install the poles to finish out the 1/2 existing chain link fence around the parsonage....well, I am sure you can guess what happened. I FELL! AGAIN! I thank God that I had the clarity of mind to put on my air brace before I went outside. It did some damage but it would have been no much worse if I had not been wearing the brace. No new s...

Positive

Here it is 11pm and I am still up. Although this isnt late for most people I have always been one to need my sleep. As a teenager I was known to go to bed as early as seven--and I find myself now as an adult to feel my best when I hit the hay close to 10. With that being said, about once a week I feel the overwhelming need to go to bed by 6 or 7 and sleep completely thru the night til the next morning. I have a very lively and dependable wake up call around 7:30 each morning. It never fails me and never ceases to amaze me. Reese runs into my room, turns on the light and SCREAMS get up mommy, get up! How can I say no to that. Well, I actually know how but it never seems to work. So like clockwork I am up every morning at 7:30 am no matter what time I turned in the night before. I battle insomnia. This is my war. I have fibromyalgia, PTSD and psoratic arthritis. A NIGHTMARISH combination. The PTSD causes very frightening, very emotional and very real nightmares. Just recently I...

Fibromyalgia hypothesis

Image
Have you seen the trailer for that wolfman movie. Every time I see it I grimace and then laugh and for the 100 th time tell my husband how much that scene where he is SOOOOOO painfully morphing into the wolf looks like how my fibro feels. Joints pulling apart, body tensing, muscles ripping and the painful expressions...I totally get it. I have a new hypothesis ...I DO NOT have fibromyalgia ... I AM A WEREWOLF !
